Install the leakage drip pan assembly to the rack

Follow instructions in this section to install the leakage drip pan assembly to the rack. The procedure must be executed by a trained technician.

Disconnect power
CAUTION
The power-control button on the device and the power switch on the power supply do not turn off the electrical current supplied to the device. The device also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
CAUTION
Electrical current from power, telephone, and communication cables is hazardous. To avoid a shock hazard:
  • Connect all power cords to a properly wired and grounded electrical outlet/source.
  • Connect any equipment that will be attached to this product to properly wired outlets/sources.
  • When possible, use one hand only to connect or disconnect signal cables.
  • Never turn on any equipment when there is evidence of fire, water, or structural damage.
  • The device might have more than one power cord, to remove all electrical current from the device, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source.
Attention
  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
  • Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
Note
Ensure the following tools are available to perform the replacement:
  • Torque screwdriver
  • Torx T10 bit

Procedure

  1. Install the bottom leakage drip tray.
    1. Align the tray with the rack and place it onto the rack.
    2. Set the torque screwdriver to 26 ± 1 inch-pounds; then, tighten the two screws to secure the tray.
    3. Connect the hose.

  2. Install the top leakage drip tray.
    1. Align the hole on the tray with the pipeline and insert the tray into place.
    2. Connect the hose.

  3. Install the leakage drip pan.
    1. Align the pan with the rack and seat it in place.
    2. Set the torque screwdriver to 5.2 ± 1 inch-pounds; then, tighten the four screws to secure the pan.

After you finish

  1. Reinstall the rails. See Install the rails to the rack.
  2. Reinstall the compute trays. See Install a compute tray to the rack.
  3. Insert the power whip into the left side of the power shelf until it clicks.
    Note
    Installing the power whip may require two people to ensure sufficient force is applied for a proper connection.

  4. Complete the parts replacement. See Complete the parts replacement.
