Install a PCIe adapter to a riser cage

Use this information to install a PCIe adapter to a riser cage.

Note

SC777 V4 system uses cabled-riser cage, which means that the cable is soldered to the riser card. There are two types of cabled-riser cages, one with 390 mm cable, the other with 490 mm cable. When installing ConnectX-7 200 or ConnectX-7 400 in PCIe slot 1, make sure to use the cabled-riser cage with 490 mm cable.

  1. If a filler is installed, remove the PH1 screw and remove the filler out of the PCIe riser-cage.

  2. Install the PCIe adapter to the riser cage.
    1. Align the adapter with the PCIe slot on the riser-cage. Carefully press the adapter straight into the slot until it is securely seated.
    2. Fasten the PH1 screw to secure the adapter.
    3. (ONLY for ConnectX-8 adapter) Connect the cable to the adapter.

After you finish
  1. Install the PCIe adapter riser cage. See Install a ConnectX-7 NDR 200 adapter riser assembly, Install a ConnectX-7 NDR 400 adapter riser assembly, Install a ConnectX-8 XDR adapter riser assembly, or Install the OSFP module.

  2. Install the cross bar. See Install the cross bar.

  3. Install the tray cover. See Install the tray cover.

  4. Install the tray into the enclosure. See Install a tray in the enclosure.

  5. Connect all required external cables to the solution.
    Note
    Use extra force to connect QSFP cables to the solution.
  6. Check the power LED on each node to make sure it changes from fast blink to slow blink to indicate all nodes are ready to be powered on.
