Install the HMC module

Use this information to install the HMC module.

About this task

Attention

  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.

  • Turn off the corresponding DWC tray that you are going to perform the task on.

  • Disconnect all external cables from the enclosure.

  • Use extra force to disconnect QSFP cables if they are connected to the solution.

Firmware and driver download: You might need to update the firmware or driver after replacing a component.

Procedure

  1. Attach the HMC card to the back plate. Then, install four (4x) T10 screws to install the HMC card to the back plate.

  2. Connecting cables to the HMC card.


  3. Installing the HMC module to the left-side GB200-NVL4 board.
    1. Install the HMC module to the left-side GB200-NVL4 board.
    2. Install two (2x) PH2 thumbscrews to secure the HMC module to the GB200-NVL4 board.

After you finish

  1. Complete cable routing. See Internal cable routing.

  2. Install the TPM module. See Install the TPM module.

  3. Install the tray cover. See Install the tray cover.

  4. Install the tray into the enclosure. See Install a tray in the enclosure.

  5. Connect all required external cables to the solution.
    Note
    Use extra force to connect QSFP cables to the solution.

  6. Check the power LED on each node to make sure it changes from fast blink to slow blink to indicate all nodes are ready to be powered on.
