Install the rear wall

Use this information to install the rear wall.

About this task

Attention
Firmware and driver download: You might need to update the firmware or driver after replacing a component.

Procedure

  1. Slide the bus bar connector module into the slot on the tray rear wall. Install four screws from top and bottom to secure the bus bar connector module to the rear wall.
    Note

    For reference, the torque required for the screws to be fully tightened/removed is 5.0+/- 0.5 in-lbs, 0.55+/- 0.056 N-m.

  2. Install the system management sideband cable kit.
    1. Install the system management sideband cable kit into the opening on the rear wall.
    2. Install two (2x) M3 PH1 screws to secure the bottom of the sideband cable kit to the rear wall.
    3. Install the M3 PH1 screw (1x) from the top of the rear wall.
    Note
    • For reference, the torque required for the screws to be fully tightened/removed is 7.0 +/- 0.5 in-lbs, 0.79 +/- 0.056 N-m.

    • After installing all three screws, make sure the sideband cable kit is not entirely fixed to the rear wall. The sideband cable kit should be in floating position that allows slight movement.

  3. Install the rear wall.
    1. Align the rear wall with the guide flanges on the tray. Then, install the rear wall to the tray.
    2. Install two screws on each side of the tray. Install total of four screws to secure the rear wall to the tray.

  4. Insert the quick connects to the slots on the rear wall.

  5. Install the T10 extension bit to the torque screwdriver; then, set the torque screwdriver to the proper torque, and install eight (8x) T10 screws to secure the quick connects to the rear wall.
    Note
    • For reference, the torque required for the screws to be fully tightened/removed is 5 +/- 0.5 in-lbs, or 0.56 +/- 0.056 N-m.

    • Installing the T10 extension bit to the torque screwdriver before installing the screws.

  6. Install four (4x) PH2 screws to secure the bus bar connector module to the P48V bus bar in the tray.
    Note

    For reference, the torque required for the screws to be fully tightened/removed is 15 +/-0.5 in-lbs, or 1.69 +/- 0.056 N-m.

After you finish
  1. Complete the cable routing for bus bar connector module cable, see Bus bar connector sideband cable routing.

  2. Complete the cable routing for system management sideband cable, see System management sideband cable routing.

  3. Install the cross bar. See Install the cross bar.

  4. Install the tray cover. See Install the tray cover.

  5. Install the tray into the enclosure. See Install a tray in the enclosure.

  6. Connect all required external cables to the solution.
    Note
    Use extra force to connect QSFP cables to the solution.
  7. Check the power LED on each node to make sure it changes from fast blink to slow blink to indicate all nodes are ready to be powered on.
