Install the system I/O board (DCSCM)

Use this information to install the system I/O board. System I/O board is also known as also known as Datacenter-ready Secure Control Module (DCSCM).

Required tools
  • Screwdriver for PH 2, T10, and T15 screws

  • Water loop shipping bracket

  • GPU cold plate handle assembly

  • GB200 NVL4 TIM Jig

  • T15 screwdriver

  • T10 bit together with torque wrench

  • SC777 V4 GB200 Grease SE 7921

Firmware and driver download: You might need to update the firmware or driver after replacing a component.

Procedure

  1. Install the system I/O board.
    1. Install the system I/O board to the host board.
    2. Install two PH2 screws to secure the system I/O board to the host board.

  2. Install the FPC cable to the host board and the system I/O board.
    1. Pull up the latch of the connectors on the host board and the system I/O board.

    2. Match the silkscreen on the FPC cable and the connectors. Then, install the FPC cable to the host board and the system I/O board.

    3. There is a white line on both ends of the FPC cable. Insert the FPC cable to the connectors until the white lines are invisible. The FPC cable is not installed correctly if the white lines are visible.

    4. Press the latches to secure the FPC cable to the connectors.

After you finish
  1. Install the host board. See Install the host board.

  2. Install the water loop. See Install the water loop.

  3. Install the E3.S drive cage. See Install an E3.S drive cage assembly.

  4. Install the PCIe adapter riser cage. See Install a ConnectX-7 NDR 200 adapter riser assembly, Install a ConnectX-7 NDR 400 adapter riser assembly, Install a ConnectX-8 XDR adapter riser assembly, or Install the OSFP module.
  5. Install the cross bar. See Install the cross bar.

  6. Install the tray cover. See Install the tray cover.

  7. Install the tray into the enclosure. See Install a tray in the enclosure.

  8. Connect all required external cables to the solution.
    Note
    Use extra force to connect QSFP cables to the solution.
  9. Check the power LED on each node to make sure it changes from fast blink to slow blink to indicate all nodes are ready to be powered on.

  10. Update the UEFI and XCC firmware to the specific version supported by the server. See Tip for replacing a Firmware and RoT Security Module.

  11. Perform OneCLI commands to restore the UEFI and XCC settings. See OneCLI commands that restore configuration settings.

  12. Perform OneCLI commands or XCC actions to restore the additional UEFI and XCC settings. See OneCLI commands that restore configuration settings and Using XCC to restore the BMC configuration.

  13. Enable TPM/TCM. See Enable TPM.

  14. If hiding TPM or updating TPM firmware is needed, see Hide/observe TPM or Update the TPM firmware.
