Install the E3.S switch board

Use this information to install the E3.S switch board.

About this task

Required tools
  • Screwdriver for PH 2, T10, and T15 screws

  • Water loop shipping bracket

  • GPU cold plate handle assembly

  • GB200 NVL4 TIM Jig

  • T15 screwdriver

  • T10 bit together with torque wrench

  • SC777 V4 GB200 Grease SE 7921

Attention
Firmware and driver download: You might need to update the firmware or driver after replacing a component.

Procedure

  1. If tray hex screws are installed, remove them from the tray. See Remove the tray hex screws.
  2. If necessary, install five (5x) PH1 screws to install the E3.S switch board to the cookie sheet.

  3. Align the E3.S switch board to the guide flanges on the front of the tray; then, place the E3.S switch board to the tray, and push the E3.S switch board to connect it to the host board.

  4. Align the E3.S switch board with the guidance marking on the tray. Then, push the E3.S switch board to connect it to the host board.

  5. Fasten two (2x) thumb screws to secure the E3.S switch board to the tray.

After you finish
  1. Install the water loop. See Install the water loop.

  2. Install the E3.S drive cage. See Install an E3.S drive cage assembly.

  3. Install the PCIe adapter riser cage. See Install a ConnectX-7 NDR 200 adapter riser assembly, Install a ConnectX-7 NDR 400 adapter riser assembly, Install a ConnectX-8 XDR adapter riser assembly, or Install the OSFP module.
  4. Install the cross bar. See Install the cross bar.

  5. Install the tray cover. See Install the tray cover.

  6. Install the tray into the enclosure. See Install a tray in the enclosure.

  7. Connect all required external cables to the solution.
    Note
    Use extra force to connect QSFP cables to the solution.
  8. Check the power LED on each node to make sure it changes from fast blink to slow blink to indicate all nodes are ready to be powered on.
