Remove the rear wall

Use this information to remove the rear wall.

About this task

Required tools

  • Screwdriver for PH1 and PH2 screws

Attention

  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.

  • Turn off the corresponding DWC tray that you are going to perform the task on.

  • Disconnect all external cables from the enclosure.

  • Use extra force to disconnect QSFP cables if they are connected to the solution.

  • To avoid damaging the water loop, always use the water loop carrier when removing, installing or folding the water loop.

  • The following illustration might differ slightly from your hardware, but the removal method is the same.

Procedure

  1. Make preparations for this task.
    1. Remove the tray from the enclosure. See Remove a tray from the enclosure.
    2. Remove the tray cover. See Remove the tray cover.
    3. Remove the cross bar. See Remove the cross bar.
  2. Disconnect the bus bar connector module sideband cable from left-side GB200-NVL4 board and host board, see Bus bar connector sideband cable routing.
  3. Remove four (4x) PH2 screws from the bus bar connector.

  4. Disconnect the system management sideband cable, see System management sideband cable routing.
  5. Install the T10 extension bit to the torque screwdriver; then, remove eight (8x) T10 screws to release the quick connects from the rear wall.
    Note
    Install the T10 extension bit to the torque screwdriver before removing the screws.

  6. Release the quick connects from the rear wall.

  7. Place the quick connects on the side walls of the tray.

  8. Remove the rear wall.
    1. Remove two screws on each side of the tray. Remove total of four screws to release the rear wall.
    2. Remove the rear wall from the tray.

  9. Remove four screws from top and bottom of the rear wall. Remove the bus bar connector module.


  10. Remove the system management sideband cable kit.
    1. Remove three M3 PH1 screws from the rear walll.
