You must be aware of the features that are supported by FlexCache volumes and their origin volumes.

Only the primary volume of a SnapMirror relationship can be a FlexCache origin volume. Starting with ONTAP 9.8, a SnapMirror secondary volume can be a FlexCache origin volume. You can have a FlexCache volume from an origin primary volume in SnapMirror relationship, but not from a secondary volume.
