During reporting, the message shows “The SSL certificate authentication failed” and the report procedure failed.

The SSL certificate of XCC will be downloaded during the installation of Lenovo XCC Logger Utility and used to perform certificate-based authentication when getting event information from XCC Redfish.

If the SSL certificate is replaced or the XCC firmware is flashed without preserving the configuration, this error may happen. In this case, manually initialize Lenovo XCC Logger Utility to refresh the SSL certificate and try again.

This error will also happen when the SSL certificate is invalid. For example, the SSL certificate is not generated or already out-of-date. In these cases, it is necessary to generate a new SSL certificate and upload to XCC. Please refer to the related document of XCC for instruction. Then manually initialize Lenovo XCC Logger Utility to refresh the SSL certificate and try again.

Note
As the validation of validity depends on the system clock of the server, if the system clock is set to an incorrect time, for example, a time point before the certificate becomes valid, the validation will also fail. In this case, it is recommended to set the system clock to correct time rather than refresh the SSL certificate.
