Hardware requirements
This section describes the hardware requirements for Lenovo XClarity Integrator for VMware vCenter. By default, the Lenovo XClarity Integrator for VMware vCenter virtual appliance is pre-configured with the following hardware configuration.
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Disk space: 128 GB of free hard disk space
Processor: 4 processors
Number of managed devices | Number of virtual CPU (vCPU) | Memory configuration |
---|---|---|
0 - 200 devices | 2 vCPUs | 8 GB RAM |
200 - 400 devices | 4 vCPUs | 10 GB RAM |
400 - 600 devices | 6 vCPUs | 12 GB RAM |
600 - 800 devices | 8 vCPUs | 14 GB RAM |
800 – 1,000 devices | 10 vCPUs | 16 GB RAM |
When running the minimum configuration, users might experience longer than expected completion times for management tasks.
A single XClarity Integrator instance can support a maximum of 1,000 devices.
Depending on the size of the managed environment and the pattern of use in the installation, users can add resources to maintain the acceptable performance if necessary.
Add one or two virtual CPUs if the processor usage in the system resources dashboard is displayed as high or very high values.
Add 1GB or 2GB of RAM if the memory usage value is more than 80% at idle.
Run the virtual machines for a longer time if the system is responsive in the configuration defined in the above table to assess system performance.
