In-Band ECC is not functioning due to asymmetric memory configuration.

User Action​

Complete the following steps:

  1. If any memory error causes a DIMM to be disabled, handle the reported memory error event at first and re-enable that DIMM.
  2. If asymmetric DIMMs are installed in the system, choose one of the following methods to dismiss the event:
    1. If the memory should to be protected by In-Band ECC, you need replace the DIMMs to make them symmetrical according to the user guide (user can navigate to https://pubs.labs.lenovo.com and select the corresponding platform documation, the reference chapter is usually in Hardware replacement procedures> Memory module installation rules and order).
    2. Otherwise, if an asymmetric memory configuration is expected, you can disable In-Band ECC through UEFI setup page (Setup -> System Settings -> Memory -> In-Band ECC Support) to skip this event reporting.
