Remove the system board air baffle and the power interposer

Use this procedure to remove the system board air baffle and the power interposer.

Note

If the server comes with a processor and memory expansion tray, it does not come with this component.

Before removing the system board air baffle, complete the following steps:

  1. Read the safety information and installation guidelines (see Safety and Installation Guidelines).

  2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables (see Power off the server).

  3. If the server is installed in a rack, remove the server from the rack.

  4. Remove the top cover (see Remove the top cover).

  5. Remove the PCIe expansion tray (see Remove the PCIe expansion tray).

To remove the system board air baffle, complete the following steps:

  1. Slightly slide power supply 2 out from the power supply bay (see Remove a hot-swap power supply unit).
  2. Lift the power interposer from the server, and set it aside.

  3. Lift the system board air baffle from the server, and set it aside.
    Attention
    Air baffle is required for airflow that creates proper cooling. Make sure proper air baffle(s) for system configuration is installed before the power is turned on.
