Setting up the logical storage consists of creating storage virtual machines (SVMs) and volumes.
Creating SVMs You can use Storage Manager to create fully configured storage virtual machines (SVMs) that can serve data immediately. A cluster can have one or more SVMs .
Creating FlexVol volumes You can create a FlexVol volume for your data by using the Create Volume dialog box in Storage Manager . You should always create a separate volume for your data rather than storing data in the root volume.
Creating SnapLock volumes You can use Storage Manager to create a SnapLock Compliance volume or a SnapLock Enterprise volume. When you create a volume, you can also set retention times, and choose whether to automate setting the WORM state on data in the volume.
