Initializing mirror relationships

When you start a mirror relationship for the first time, you have to initialize the relationship. Initializing a relationship consists of a complete baseline transfer of data from the source volume to the destination. You can use Storage Manager to initialize a mirror relationship if you have not already initialized the relationship while creating it.

1. Click Protection > Relationships .
2. Select the mirror relationship that you want to initialize.
3. Click Operations > Initialize .
4. Select the confirmation check box and click Initialize .
5. Optional: If you are initializing a mirror relationship between Infinite Volumes, click Run in Background to run the operation in the background.
6. Verify the status of the mirror relationship in the Protection window.
