Start volume initialization

The start volume initialize command starts the formatting of a volume in a storage array.

Supported Arrays

This command applies to an individual DE2000H, DE4000H, DE4000F, DE6000H, or DE6000F storage array.

Roles

To execute this command on an storage array, you must have the Storage Admin role.

Context

Note
Formatting a volume starts a long-running operation that you cannot stop.

Syntax

start volume [<var id="GUID-D7BC3AFE-9404-4338-B83F-A8617CBAD894__V1111775" className="keyword varname">volumeName</var>] initialize

Parameter

ParameterDescription
volume

The name of a volume that you want to format. Enclose the volume name in square brackets ([ ]). If the volume name has special characters or numbers, you must enclose the name in double quotation marks (" ") inside square brackets.
