Downloading the firmware image

Firmware images are available from the Fix Central Web site. This Web site provides firmware images for your DataPower appliance. If you have questions about the site, click the Help link in the left navigation area.

To download a firmware image, complete the following steps:

Changes are made periodically to the IBM Web site. The actual procedure might vary slightly from what is described in this document.
  1. Go to http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/.
  2. Define the platform-specific search criteria.
    1. Under Product Group, enter WebSphere.
    2. Under Product, enter WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances.
    3. Under Installed Version, select your currently installed firmware version.
    4. Under Platform, select All.
    5. Click Continue.
  3. If you are not are currently authenticated with the Fix Central Web site, sign in with your IBM Support credentials.
    1. In the IBM ID field, enter your IBM Support ID.
    2. In the Password field, enter your password.
    3. Click Continue.
  4. From the Identify fixes page, define the search criteria to locate available firmware images.
    1. Select your search criteria. Although there are more methods, the following methods are the only viable choices:
      • Click Browse for fixes to browse for all fixes for your specific product, installed version, and platform. Optionally set the checkbox to list only fixes that will not change your installed version.
      • Click Text and enter keywords to search for fixes that contain these entered keywords. Search examples:
        • Enter *XI* to list fixes for an IBM WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliance XI50.
        • Enter *XI*3.8.1* to list the latest 3.8.1 fixes for an IBM WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliance XI50.
        • Enter *XI*3.8.1*4195* to list the latest 3.8.1 fix for an IBM WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliance XI50 for a Machine Type 4195.
        • Enter 381 or 3.8.1 to list the 3.8.1 fixes for all DataPower appliances.
    2. Click Continue.
  5. From the list of available fixes, select the appropriate fixes, and click Continue.
