Cannot communicate with external ports on I/O module

If a blade server cannot communicate with the external ports on an I/O module, verify through the advanced management module that the ports are enabled.

Problem​

One or more blade servers cannot communicate with the external ports on an I/O module.

Investigation​

Perform these steps to resolve the problem:
  1. Log in to the advanced management module Web interface.
  2. Make sure the external ports option is enabled in the management module Web interface. Select I/O Module Tasks →Admin/Power/Restart to determine whether the external ports are enabled or not.
  3. Reseat the I/O module.
  4. Replace the I/O module.
