Full-height PCIe riser

The PCIe risers connect the PCIe adapters to the PCIe Expansion Node system board. The full-height PCIe riser has two slots for full-height PCIe adapters and is encased in a mechanical structure that supports the adapters.

The full-height PCIe riser supports two PCIe 16x connectors with 16x PCIe lanes to each connector. The full-height PCIe riser accepts full height full length, full height half length, and low profile adapters (when the low profile adapters are using a full height spine).

Note
The full-height PCIe riser must be removed from the PCIe Expansion Node to install the PCIe adapters; then, with the adapters installed in the riser, the riser is reinstalled in the PCIe Expansion Node.

See System board connectors for the location of the full-height PCIe riser connector.

See PCIe adapter slots for more information about the PCIe Expansion Node adapter slots.

For a list of supported optional devices, see the IBM ServerProven website for your compute nodes machine type and model number.

For current information about the PCIe adapters that are available for your compute node, see the Network devices information page.
