The following table is a summary of the features and specifications of the Flex System Storage Expansion Node.

Integrated functions:
  • Captive-mode connectivity by an interposer cable to an Flex System 1-bay X-Architecture compute node. For support requirements, see Supported compute nodes.
  • PCIe 3.0 RAID controller, based on LSI SAS 2208 PCIe SAS/SATA processor chip
  • Light path diagnostics

  • RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60
Some RAID configurations require a Features on Demand key, an optional 512 MB or 1 GB flash/RAID adapter, or both.
Optional devices:
  • Supports up to 12 SAS and SATA 2.5-inch hot-swap hard disk drive and solid-state drives
  • Supports a 512 MB or 1 GB flash/RAID adapter and flash power module
