Cabling interconnect ports

To cable the interconnect ports (for cluster interconnect and HA interconnect, if applicable) between the HA pair nodes, the nodes must be connected to each other through the interconnect ports using optical cables or DACs.

  1. Plug one end of the optical cable into one of the local node's interconnect ports (SFP+), then plug the other end into the partner node's corresponding interconnect ports (SFP+).

You must not cross-cable the interconnect ports. Cable the local node ports only to the identical ports on the partner node.

If the system detects a cross-cabled HA interconnect, the following message appears on the system console and in the event log (accessible using the event log show command):

HA interconnect port <port> of this appliance seems to be connected to port <port> on the partner appliance.

  2. Repeat Step 2 for the remaining interconnect port (SFP+).
  3. For DM7100, cable the 2 cluster interconnect ports with the 100GbE QSFP28 cables on the identical ports of each node while making sure not to cross cable.
    Note
The adapter for the cluster interconnect should be in slot 3 on each node.
