Importing updates from local site

Users can import the updates from a local directory or a shared network location by using Import Wizard.

Before you begin

Before importing updates:

  • If the update package is downloaded from the Lenovo Web site in a ZIP file, extract the update package first.

  • Each update package contains a payload file and a metadata file (XML), both of which are required in the update process of XClarity Integrator System Updates.

Procedure

  1. To start Import Wizard, click the machine name in the navigation pane and select Import updates from local site from the Actions list. The Import Wizard Welcome page is displayed.
  2. Click Next. The Select Updates Source page is displayed.
  3. Click Browse, select the updates source folder, and click Next.
    Note
    Lenovo XClarity Integrator System Updates imports the updates to the root path. The updates located in subdirectories will not be imported. To import these updates, run Import Wizard again and select the subdirectory on the Select Updates page.
  4. On the Select Updates page, select individual updates or select all available updates by selecting Select All. Click Next to import the updates to Lenovo XClarity Integrator System Updates Local Repository. The import progress will be displayed on the Importing Updates page.
  5. After importing the updates, click Next to view a summary of the imported updates. On the Import Finished page, the import information is displayed, including the number of imported updates and the list of these updates.
  6. Click Finish.
