Configuring a WSUS server

The following procedure describes how to configure the WSUS server. The WSUS server is used for publishing. Administrative privileges are required to successfully publish updates.

Procedure

1. Select one of the following WSUS server options:
   • To use the same server for WSUS that Lenovo XClarity Integrator System Updates is installed on, click Connect to a local update server.
   • To publish the updates to the WSUS server through the network, click Connect to a remote update server and specify the name of the WSUS update server and the port used to connect to that server. You can use the hostname or the IP address as the name of the WSUS update server.

     This option allows you to use the Secure Sockets Layer by selecting Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). For more information about Secure Sockets Layer, refer to Using the Secure Sockets Layer for a WSUS server (Optional).

2. Click Next to proceed with WSUS configuration.

  Lenovo XClarity Integrator System Updates supports publishing updates to the WSUS server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). SSL can secure the connection and encrypt the data transferred between Lenovo XClarity Integrator System Updates and the WSUS server.
