Managing Rolling System Update tasks

The Rolling System Update (RSU) function enable users to create and manage rolling system update tasks. An RSU task contains all of the information and options required for a rolling system update.

Procedure

  1. Select the target cluster from the inventory tree and click the Configure tab.
  2. On the left navigation pane, click Rolling Update under Lenovo XClarity Integrator. The Rolling Update page is displayed on the right pane.
    The task table provides the following detailed information about an RSU task:
    • Task Name

    • Type

    • State

    • Create Time

    • Start Time

    • End Time

    UpdatingThe firmware of the host is updating.
    RebootThe host is restarting after updating completes.
    Exit MaintenanceThe host is exiting maintenance mode.
    SuccessThe firmware update succeeded.
    FailedThe causes of host failure:
    • Cannot get the update package.
    • Cannot enter maintenance mode.
    • Cannot update the firmware.
    • Cannot restart the host.
    • Cannot exit maintenance mode.
    FirmwareNot StartedThe firmware update has not started.
    RunningThe firmware update is running.
    SuccessThe firmware update succeeded.
    FailedThe firmware update failed.
  3. Perform one of the following steps:
