FRU preparation and replacement notice

For the PIK rack E3 (SN: 1S1410O42J909AM4) and rack E4 (SN: 1S1410O42J909AM5), system board replacement and water loop replacement require different set of FRUs and procedures. See the following sections for more information.

System board replacement​

  1. FRU preparation

    When replacing only the system board, make sure to have the following FRUs at hand before starting the replacement procedures:

    1. System board (03KH348)

    2. VR conduction plate (03LD974)

  2. Replacement procedures

    1. Remove the system board, see Remove the system board in SD665 V3 User Guide.

    2. Using system board (03KH348), complete Step 1 and Step 2 in Install the system board in SD665 V3 User Guide.

    3. Install VR conduction plate (03LD974) to the system board, see Step 3 in Install the system board in SD665 V3 User Guide.

    4. Complete Step 4. Reinstall components and reinstall the tray to the enclosure, see Install the system board in SD665 V3 User Guide.

Water loop replacement​

  1. FRU preparation

    When replacing the water loop, make sure to have the following FRUs at hand before starting the replacement procedures:

    1. Water loop (03KL296)

    2. VR conduction plate (03KL295)

  2. Replacement procedures

    1. Access the system board, complete Step 1 in Remove the system board in SD665 V3 User Guide.

    2. Remove the VR conduction plate from the system board, complete Step 3 in Remove the system board in SD665 V3 User Guide.

    3. Install VR conduction plate (03KL295) to the system board, complete Step 3 in Install the system board in SD665 V3 User Guide.

    4. Using water loop (03KL296), reinstall components and reinstall the tray to the enclosure, see the After you finish section in Install the system board in SD665 V3 User Guide.
