Remove a GPU
Use this information to remove a GPU.
Depending on the specific type, your GPU might look different from the illustration in this topic.
Use any documentation that comes with the GPU and follow those instructions in addition to the instructions in this topic.
To remove a GPU, complete the following steps:
- Depending on the GPU type, do one of the following:
For NVIDIA FHHL V100 GPU, remove the V100 GPU air baffle first.Figure 1. V100 GPU air baffle removal
For full-height full-length GPUs, remove the GPU holder from the GPU assembly.Figure 2. GPU holder removal
For NVIDIA P4 GPU, remove the P4 GPU air baffle (also called the P4 GPU air baffle).Figure 3. P4 GPU air baffle removal
- For NVIDIA A10 GPU, if you are removing one A10 GPU on one riser assembly, remove the riser assembly first, and then remove the A10 GPU air baffle.Figure 4. One A10 GPU removalFigure 5. A10 GPU air baffle removal
For NVIDIA A10 GPU, if you are removing two NVIDIA A10 GPUs on one riser assembly, remove both the riser assembly and the FHFL GPU holder together first, and then remove the FHFL GPU holder.Figure 6. Two A10 GPU removal on one riser adapterFigure 7. FHFL GPU holder removal
- Disconnect the power cable from the GPU assembly.
- Remove the GPU from the riser assembly. See Remove a PCIe adapter from the riser assembly.
