You can use Storage Manager to create a Snapshot copy of a volume outside a defined schedule to capture the state of the file system at a specific point in time.
About this task
Creating a Snapshot copy of an Infinite Volume takes longer than creating a Snapshot copy of a FlexVol volume because an Infinite Volume is larger than a FlexVol volume.
- Click .
- From the Volumes on SVM list, select All SVMs .
- Select the volume from the list of volumes.
- Click .
- In the Create Snapshot Copy dialog box , if you want to change the default name, specify a new name for the Snapshot copy.
Valid characters are ASCII characters, numerals, hyphens (-), underscores (_), periods (.), and the plus (+) symbol.
The default name of a Snapshot copy consists of the volume name and the timestamp.
- Click Create .
- Verify that the Snapshot copy that you created is included in the list of Snapshot copies in the Snapshot Copies tab.
