User Security

All settings under the User Password page and submenu can’t be load to default. Clearing CMOS only resets items under Rule and Policy to default but doesn’t reset the Power-On and Admin Password.

Password Rule and Policy

Set the password rule and policy.

Set Power-On Password

Set the power-on password.

The password can only contain the following characters (excluding white-space characters): A-Z, a-z, 0-9, ~`!@#$%^&*()-+={}[]|:;"'<>,?/._

Must contain at least one letter.

Must contain at least one number.

Must contain at least two of the following characters in combination:

  • At least one upper-case letter

  • At least one lower-case letter

  • At least one special character

No more than two consecutive occurrences of the same character

Must contain at least 8 characters if Minimum password length is not set.

Clear Power-On Password

Clear the power-on password.

Set Administrator Password

Set the administrator password.

The password can only contain the following characters (excluding white-space characters): A-Z, a-z, 0-9, ~`!@#$%^&*()-+={}[]|:;"'<>,?/._

Must contain at least one letter.

Must contain at least one number.

Must contain at least two of the following characters in combination:

  • At least one upper-case letter

  • At least one lower-case letter

  • At least one special character
