UEFI Setup Utility Overview
This topic provides a general introduction to the UEFI Setup utility.
Server platform variation: UEFI system configuration options vary by server platform. Some menus or options described in this document might be slightly different from those on your specific server platform.
Default settings: The default settings are already optimized for you. Use the default value for any item you are not familiar with. Do not change the value of unfamiliar items to avoid unexpected problems. If you consider changing the server configuration, proceed with extreme caution. Setting the configuration incorrectly might cause unexpected results.
- System boot for settings to take effect: For settings that require a system reboot to take effect, use one of the following methods:
After changing the settings, click
on the main menu.After changing the settings, press Esc and select <Y> Save and Exit the Setup Utility on the main menu.
If you are in a nested submenu, press Esc repeatedly to return to the main menu.

Select Language | Select the display language. |
Launch Graphical System Setup | Start the graphical user interface for system setup. You can view or change UEFI settings on the UEFI Setup page. Note When navigating in the graphical System Setup, there will be no screen output through text-based console redirection. Please use a VGA monitor or the XCC Remote Console web viewer for graphical system setup screen output. |
System Information | View basic details of the system. |
System Settings | View or modify system settings. Changes might not take effect immediately. For settings that require a system reboot to take effect, save changes and reboot the system. |
Date and Time | Set the local date and time of the system. |
Start Options | Boot a desired selection from the primary boot sequence in the Boot Manager menu. |
Boot Manager | Change the boot order, boot parameters, and boot from a file. |
BMC Settings | Configure the baseboard management controller (BMC). |
System Event Logs | Clear or view the system event log. |
User Security | Set or change the power-on password and administrator password. |
Default Options | Configure options for factory defaults and custom defaults.

View Unsaved Settings | View all of the settings that have been changed but not saved. |
Save Settings | Save the changed settings and commit them to BMC. |
Discard Settings | Discard the changes. |
Load Default Settings | Load the default values for system settings. |
Exit Setup Utility | Exit the UEFI Setup utility. |
