Cabling the controllers to SAS drive shelves

You must cable each controller to the IOM modules on both SAS drive shelves.

About this task

Be sure to check the illustration arrow for the proper cable connector pull-tab orientation. The cable pull-tab for the DM240S are down.

Note

As you insert the connector, you should feel it click into place; if you do not feel it click, remove it, turn it around and try again.

1. Cable your controllers to two drive shelves.

   DM7100H Systems Installation and Setup Instructions

   1. Cable from port SAS port 0a controller A to expansion port 1 (left side) on the first enclosure.
   2. Cable from port 3 to port 1 on all additional enclosures on the left hand side ESMs.
   3. Cable from port 3 on the last expansion to port 0d on controller B.
   4. Cable from port SAS port 0a controller B to expansion port 1 (right side) on the first enclosure.
   5. Cable from port 3 to port 1 on all additional enclosures on the right hand side ESMs.
   6. Cable from port 3 on the last expansion to port 0d on controller A.
