IBM System x iDataPlex 3U Chassis

The IBM® System x® iDataPlex® Type 6386 or 7834 3U chassis contains a power supply and a fan assembly that provide operating power and cooling for all of the components in the chassis.

The 3U chassis supports the following configurations:

  • One IBM System x iDataPlex dx340 system-board tray with up to twelve 3.5-inch hot-swap SAS or SATA hard disk drives
  • One IBM System x iDataPlex dx360 M2 system-board tray with up to twelve 3.5-inch hot-swap SAS or SATA hard disk drives
  • One IBM System x iDataPlex dx360 M3 system-board tray with up to twelve 3.5-inch hot-swap SAS or SATA hard disk drives
