Install the processor
Use this information to install the processor. This procedure must be executed by a trained technician.
Before you install the processor, complete the following steps:
Read Safety and Installation Guidelines to ensure that you work safely.
If there is any old thermal grease on the processor, gently clean the top of the processor using an alcohol cleaning pad. Dispose of the cleaning pad after all of the thermal grease is removed.
NoteIf you are applying new thermal grease on the top of the processor, make sure to do it after the alcohol has fully evaporated.Apply the thermal grease on the top of the processor with syringe by forming four uniformly spaced dots, while each dot consists of about 0.1 ml of thermal grease.

After you install the processor, complete the following steps:
Reinstall the heat sink (see Install the heat sink).
Install the top cover onto the server (see Install the top cover).
Install the server into the rack if necessary.
Reconnect power cords and all external cables.
