Power off the server for this task

ATTENTION: Static Sensitive Device Ground package before opening

Before installing the 3.5-inch simple-swap-drive backplate assembly, touch the static-protective package that contains the new 3.5-inch simple-swap-drive backplate assembly to any unpainted surface on the outside of the server. Then, take the new 3.5-inch simple-swap-drive backplate assembly out of the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

To install the 3.5-inch simple-swap-drive backplate assembly, complete the following steps:

1. Align the backplate with the chassis and lower it into the chassis. Put the backplate into place with it leaning backward slightly.
2. Rotate the backplate to vertical position to ensure that the four hooks on the chassis pass through the corresponding holes in the backplate. Then, slide the new backplate as shown until it is secured into place.
