Install the 3.5-inch simple-swap-drive backplate assembly

Use this information to install the 3.5-inch simple-swap-drive backplate assembly.

Power off the server for this task

ATTENTION: Static Sensitive Device Ground package before opening

Before installing the 3.5-inch simple-swap-drive backplate assembly, touch the static-protective package that contains the new backplate assembly to any unpainted surface on the outside of the server. Then, take the backplate assembly out of the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

To install the 3.5-inch simple-swap-drive backplate assembly, complete the following steps:

1. Align the backplate assembly with the chassis and lower it into the chassis. Put the backplate assembly into place with it leaning backward slightly.
2. Rotate the backplate assembly to vertical position to ensure that the four hooks on the chassis pass through the corresponding holes in the backplate assembly. Then, slide the backplate assembly as shown until it is secured into place.
