Disassemble the system board for recycle

Follow the instructions in this section to disassemble the system board before recycling.

Before disassembling the system board:

  1. Remove the system board from the server (see Remove the system board).

  2. Refer to local environmental, waste or disposal regulations to ensure compliance.

Complete the following steps to disassemble the system board:

Disassembling the system board

  1. Remove the following components as illustrated:
    • 14 philip screws (with PH2 screwdriver)

    • 14 torx screws on the PHM bolster plates 7 8 (with T20 torx screwdriver)

    • Four PH2 captive screws on the heat sink 5 (with PH2 screwdriver)

    • Four plastic rivets on two internal raid holder 3 4 (with screwdriver)

    • Four standoffs (with 7 mm wrench)

    • Two hexagon bolts on VGA connector (with 5 mm wrench)

    • One plunger (with 11 mm and 16 mm wrench)

  2. Separate the components 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 from the system board.

After disassembling the system board, comply with local regulations when recycling.
