Technical specifications

Summary of the technical specifications of the server. Depending on the model, some features might not be available, or some specifications might not apply.

Processor
Supports multi-core Intel Xeon processors, with integrated memory controller and Intel Mesh UPI (Ultra Path Interconnect) topology.
  • Up to two Intel Xeon 6 processors with P-cores with the new LGA 4710 sockets
  • Up to 86 cores per socket
  • Up to 4 UPI links between processors at up to 24 GT/s
  • Thermal Design Power (TDP): up to 350 watts

Memory

  • Memory module type:
    • TruDDR5 6400 MHz RDIMM: 64 GB (2Rx4), 96 GB (2Rx4), and 128 GB (2Rx4)
  • Speed:
    Note
    Operating speed depends on processor model and UEFI settings.
    • 6400 MT/s for 1 DIMM per channel
    • 6000 MT/s for 2 DIMMs per channel
  • Capacity
    • Minimum: 2 TB
    • Maximum: 4 TB
  • Slots: 16 DIMM slots per processor, 32 DIMM slots in total

  • One OCP slot with PCIe Gen5 x16 host interface (slot 1)
  • Four PCIe Gen5 x16 FHHL PCIe slots (slots 2 to 5)

Graphics processing unit (GPU)

Integrated functions and I/O connectors
  • Lenovo XClarity Controller (XCC), which provides service processor control and monitoring functions, video controller, and remote keyboard, video, mouse, and remote drive capabilities.
  • Front connectors:
    • Three USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) connectors
    • One USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) connector with Lenovo XClarity Controller management
    • One XCC system management port (10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45) to connect to a systems-management network. This RJ-45 connector is dedicated to the Lenovo XClarity Controller functions.
    • One VGA port

Important
Power supplies and redundant power supplies in the server must be with the same power rating, wattage, level and vendor.
The server supports the following policies:
  • Power redundancy policy:
    • N+1 redundancy: Six or eight 3200-watt power supplies, or six 3800-watt power supplies
    • N+N redundancy with OVS: Eight 3800-watt power supplies
  • Power restore policy: Always Off, Always On, Restore
Minimal configuration for debugging
  • Two processors
  • Minimum memory capacity – 2 or 3 TB of memory (sixteen 128 GB modules or thirty-two 64 GB/96 GB modules)
  • Six power supplies
  • One M.2 drive (If OS is needed for debugging)
  • Twenty-one system fans
  • One front PCIe Ethernet Adapter (If network is required)
