Remove a heat sink Torx T30 nut
Follow the instructions in this section to remove a PEEK (Polyether ether ketone) Torx T30 nut on the heat sink.
About this task
Go over Installation Guidelines to ensure that you work safely.
Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables (see Power off the server).
If the server is installed in a rack, slide the server out on its rack slide rails to gain access to the top cover, or remove the server from the rack.
Do not touch the processor contacts. Contaminants on the processor contacts, such as oil from your skin, can cause connection failures.
Procedure
After you finish
Install a new Torx T30 nut. See Install a heat sink Torx T30 nut.
Proceed to complete the parts replacement (see Complete the parts replacement).
