To set up the server, install any options that have been purchased, cable the server, configure and update the firmware, and install the operating system.

Attach all external cables to the server. Typically, you will need to connect the server to a power source, to the data network, and to storage. In addition, you will need to connect the server to the management network. - Power on the server
After the server performs a short self-test (power status LED flashes quickly) when connected to input power, it enters a standby state (power status LED flashes once per second). - Validate server setup
After powering up the server, make sure that the LEDs are lit and that they are green. - Power off the server
The server remains in a standby state when it is connected to a power source, allowing the Lenovo XClarity Controller to respond to remote power-on requests. To remove all power from the server (power-on LED off), you must disconnect all power cables.
