Configuring Zero Touch Provisioning

Use the information in this topic to configure the XClarity Controller Zero Touch Provisioning.

The BMC provides Zero Touch Provisioning to automatically deploy the server in an efficient way by using DHCP provisioning. The BMC obtains the location of the profile from the DHCP option, then downloads the bundle and configuration files described in the profile to initiate deployment (which includes firmware update and configuration restore). The network share supports NFS, CIFS, HTTP or HTTPS and should be on the same subnet of the BMC and DHCP server.

To set up Zero Touch Provisioning:
  1. Click Network under BMC Configuration to view or modify Zero Touch Provisioning settings.
  2. Click the switch next to Zero Touch Provisioning to enable it.

    Note
This feature is disabled by default.
  3. Select Perform Immediately to start the deployment at once, or Perform at BMC Restart to defer the deployment to next BMC reset.

  4. Enter a password in the Input Password field.

    Note
    • You will be need this password to restore configuration files.

    • The password must not contain only white space characters and must be a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 64 characters long.

  5. Click Apply to complete.
