Upgrading Lenovo XClarity Integrator Hardware Management Pack and Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service

The following procedure describes how to upgrade Lenovo XClarity Integrator Hardware Management Pack and Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service.

Before you begin

  • Before upgrading Lenovo XClarity Integrator Hardware Management Pack, ensure that the management server installed with Lenovo XClarity Integrator Hardware Management Pack is in the maintenance mode.

  • Before upgrading Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service, ensure that the configuration file %SystemDrive%\ ProgramData\Lenovo\LXCI\UUS\global.conf exists and the database for Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service works.

Note

Only Lenovo XClarity Integrator Hardware Management Pack v7.3.0 and later versions support one-click upgrade through the installer. For versions earlier than 7.3.0, you should uninstall Lenovo XClarity Integrator Hardware Management Pack and Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service before clicking the installer for upgrade.

Procedure

  1. Double-click the installer.
    The upgrade screen is displayed if a previous version of Lenovo XClarity Integrator Hardware Management Pack (7.3.0 or later) or Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service (3.3.0 or later) exists on the management server.
    Note

    • If no previous version of Lenovo XClarity Integrator Hardware Management Pack or Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service is detected, the wizard will enter the installation mode. For detailed information about the installation mode, refer to Installing Lenovo XClarity Integrator Hardware Management Pack.

    • If a previous version of Lenovo XClarity Integrator Hardware Management Pack (earlier than 7.3.0) or Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service (earlier than 3.3.0) is detected, an error message will be displayed and the wizard steps to the finish screen directly.

  2. Click Upgrade.
    A page with selected features to upgrade is displayed, which cannot be configured.
    Note

    • If only a previous version of Lenovo XClarity Integrator Hardware Management Pack (7.3.0 or later) exists, by default, the check box of Lenovo Hardware Management Pack for Microsoft SCOM is selected and disabled, and the check box of Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service is not selected and disabled.

    • If only a previous version of Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service (3.3.0 or later) exists, by default, the check box of Lenovo Hardware Management Pack for Microsoft SCOM is not selected and disabled, and the check box of Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service is selected and disabled.

    • If previous versions of both Lenovo XClarity Integrator Hardware Management Pack (7.3.0 or later) and Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service (3.3.0 or later) exist, by default, the check boxes of Lenovo Hardware Management Pack for Microsoft SCOM and Lenovo XClarity Integrator Service are selected and disabled.

  3. Click Next.
  4. Follow the instructions on the wizard to complete the upgrade.
  5. Click Finish.
