Install a front OCP cage

Follow instructions in this section to install a front OCP cage.

About this task

To avoid potential danger, make sure to read and follow the safety information.

Attention
  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to make sure that you work safely.

  • Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the node and chassis; then, take the component out of the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

Procedure

  1. Connect the XCC management module cable to the system board (see Front OCP module and XCC management module cable routing).
  2. Connect the front OCP cable to the system board; then, install the front air baffle and place the front part of the OCP cable on the front air baffle (see Install an air baffle).
  3. Install the front OCP cage to the node.
    1. Align the cage with the triangles and guide pins on both sides of the node; then, lower the cage into the node and push it toward the rear of the node until all the screw holes are aligned.
    2. Connect the XCC management module cable to the XCC management module connector on the OCP cage (see Front OCP module and XCC management module cable routing).
    3. Tighten the screws to secure the OCP cable to the front OCP cage.
      Note
To prevent damage on the OCP cable, avoid using excessive force on the OCP cable screws.
