Change the VPD for E1 Enclosure configuration (trained technician only)
Use the following information to change the vital product data (VPD) for E1 Enclosure configuration.
If the node is to be installed in an E1 Enclosure (1U 2-node), change the vital product data (VPD) for proper operation.
To change the VPD for E1 Enclosure configuration, complete the following steps:
Enable IPMI on Lenovo XClarity Controller web interface or Lenovo XClarity Essentials OneCLI.
Implement the following IPMI commands:
ipmitool raw 0x3A 0x0C 0x0E 0x01 0x10 0x54 0x68 0x69 0x6e 0x6b 0x53 0x79 0x73 0x74 0x65 0x6d 0x20 0x53 0x45 0x33 0x35 0x30 0x20 0x28 0x31 0x55 0x32 0x4e 0x29 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20 0x20
For data security purpose, make sure to disable IPMI again on Lenovo XClarity Controller web interface or Lenovo XClarity Essentials OneCLI.
If the node is removed from an E1 Enclosure (1U 2-node) and is not to be reinstalled to the E1 Enclosure, change the vital product data (VPD) to the default mode for proper operation.
To change the VPD to the default mode, complete the following steps:
Enable IPMI on Lenovo XClarity Controller web interface or Lenovo XClarity Essentials OneCLI.
Implement the following IPMI commands:
