Install a GPU distribution board

Follow instructions in this section to install a GPU distribution board.

About this task

Attention

  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.

  • Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

  • Based on your configuration, the following GPU distribution boards are supported in the 4-DW GPU Model and the 8-DW GPU Model:

    • The 4-DW GPU Model supports one of the followings:

      • 1 x Four PCIe x16 slot PCIe distribution board

      • 1 x Four PCIe x16 slot switched PCIe distribution board

    • The 8-DW GPU Model supports one of the followings:

      • 2 x Four PCIe x16 slot PCIe distribution board

      • 2 x Four PCIe x16 slot switched PCIe distribution board

Procedure

  1. Install the GPU distribution board.
    1. Align the nine screw holes on the GPU distribution board with the standoffs on the chassis.
    2. Fasten the nine screws to secure the GPU distribution board to the chassis.

  2. Connect the power and signal cables to the GPU distribution board.

  1. Reinstall the GPU adapters. See Install a GPU adapter.
