Remove a GPU filler

Use this information to remove a GPU filler.

  • Read Installation guidelines to ensure that you work safely.

  • Prevent exposure to static electricity, which might lead to system halt and loss of data, by keeping static-sensitive components in their static-protective packages until installation, and handling these devices with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding system.

  • If the server is in a rack, remove it from the rack.

  • If foot stands are installed on the server, rotate them inwards and lay the server on its side for easier operation.

Note
If you have installed one double-wide GPU adapter in PCIe slot 1, or three double-wide GPU adapters in PCIe slot 1, 3, and 7; install a GPU filler for proper cooling and airflow.

Procedure

  1. Remove the server cover. See Remove the server cover.
  2. Press and hold the latch to release the GPU filler from the air baffle; then, remove the GPU filler in the direction as shown.
