Troubleshooting the ThinkAgile CP interconnect switch

This topic identifies common ThinkAgile CP Interconnect issues and some possible solutions.

PSU power supply LED not lit

  • Symptom: The power supply LED is not lit.

  • Solution: Check the power supply to ensure that there is a proper connection to the power source. Ensure that power is available from the power source.

Fan LED not lit

  • Symptom: The fan LED is not lit.

  • Solution: Check the fan module to ensure that it is properly inserted in the system. Replace the fan module if not functioning normally.

  • Symptom: The port link LED is not lit.

  • Solutions:

    • Check the port configuration in the firmware (see the Command Reference). If the port is configured with a specific speed or duplex mode, check the other device to confirm that it is set to the same configuration.

    • Check the cables connecting the port to the other device. Ensure that they are connected correctly and that you are using the correct cable type.

Switch does not initialize (boot)

  • Symptom: All the switch LEDs stay on, and the command prompt is not displayed on the console.

  • Solution: The operating system may be damaged. Connect the console port and cycle the system power. If the system cannot boot into NOS, reinstall the NOS firmware. (Refer to the NOS installation guide.)

    Before reinstalling the firmware, ensure that all the configuration logs have been saved and that you have all applicable firmware and procedures ready.
