This guide provides information about using the ThinkAgile CP Cloud Controller Web-based management console to manage the compute, storage, network and virtualization resources in your environment.
If you are new to ThinkAgile CP, you should start with the What is ThinkAgile CP? for an introduction to key product concepts.
- Log in to the ThinkAgile CP Cloud Controller
Users with a ThinkAgile CP account can log in to access the Cloud Controller management portal. - Manage resources
Through the ThinkAgile CP Cloud Controller, infrastructure admin users can add, register, monitor, and modify settings for the network, compute, and storage hardware resources associated with an organization. - Working with application instances
In ThinkAgile CP, an application instance refers to one or more virtual machines (VMs) grouped together to provide a specific set of software capabilities for an end user. For example, an application instance might be a simple VM running Windows 10; and another application instance might be a VM running CentOS 7 with Docker. - Networking
When creating and deploying applications in ThinkAgile CP Cloud Controller, you will select the network mode as either VLAN or VNET. ThinkAgile CP allows you to take advantage of your existing virtual LANs (VLANs) or create new VLANs for use in the ThinkAgile CP stack. - Storage blocks and storage pools
In ThinkAgile CP Cloud Controller a storage block refers to the physical storage resource, and a storage pool is where you allocate storage resources for use by application instances. - Compute nodes
A compute node is a physical compute resource containing CPU and memory. Up to four compute nodes can be housed in a compute block. - Working with virtual datacenters
A virtual datacenter is a logical grouping of compute and storage resources allocated from one or more migration zones and one or more storage pools. - Manage your infrastructure
The topics in this section of the administration guide describe the tasks available for managing your infrastructure, which can be accessed in the left navigation menu of the Cloud Controller UI under the General heading. - Backups and disaster recovery
ThinkAgile CP provides integrated backup and disaster recovery functionality for your VM instances. - Manage Encryption
Refer to the following topics for information about managing encryption and configuring KMIP for ThinkAgile CP Cloud Controller - Introduction to Metering Manager
The ThinkAgile CP Metering Manager provides an easy way for private cloud operators to keep track of how resources are being consumed by different organizations, as well as track users for planning, analytics, and billing purposes. It is ideal for integration with internal and external charge-back systems. - Introduction to Migration Manager
The ThinkAgile CP Migration Manager application allows you to migrate existing VMware virtual machines (VMs) to ThinkAgile CP. Once set up, it performs periodic synchronization of a VMware virtual machine (VM) to ThinkAgile CP, and, once synchronized, a ThinkAgile CP VM can be spun-off and deployed from the synchronization. The result is a low-downtime cut-over from VMware to ThinkAgile CP.
