With the explosion of data storage needs, organizations have adopted hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) as their de-facto option of choice. Lenovo ThinkAgile MX Integrated Systems (Appliances) and Certified Nodes are HCI building blocks built on top of Lenovo certified hardware and Microsoft Azure Stack HCI (S2D) software. With Lenovo’s XClarity plugin and Windows Admin Center integration, businesses can deploy solutions quickly and easily. Seamless Azure hybrid services make it easier to extend applications to the cloud.

    The following documents provide detailed views of Lenovo certified configurations for building Microsoft Azure Stack HCI solutions. These guides explain system component selection criteria and provide several detailed configuration examples.
  • ThinkAgile MX Best Recipes
    A set of Lenovo ThinkAgile MX “Best Recipes” simplifies firmware and device driver compliance by publishing the latest set of WSSD HCI-certified firmware and driver versions that have been tested against a particular ThinkAgile MX solution. Each Best Recipe is based on the Lenovo server Machine Type (MT) of the node, which is a four-character alphanumeric identifier.
  • ThinkAgile MX Update Repository
    To further simplify acquisition of Best Recipe levels of firmware and device drivers for ThinkAgile MX solutions, Lenovo has created the ThinkAgile MX Updates Repository site. From this site a single zip archive can be downloaded that contains all firmware and driver updates for a given solution and Best Recipe, as well as other useful files.

    Lenovo publishes several documents related to ThinkAgile MX solutions, including reference information, product guides, datasheets, etc.
  • UEFI Setup
    Before deploying a Windows Server or Azure Stack HCI operating system on ThinkAgile MX nodes, it is essential that we configure the servers’ UEFI settings properly. These settings must be manually configured. It is a good idea to double-check that all critical UEFI settings are set properly prior to starting any deployment. The specific steps used to configure UEFI settings depend on the generation of the base server.
