Overview

The Lenovo® ThinkAgile™ SXM Series products are pre-integrated, rack scale solutions that are specifically designed to enable deployment of hybrid clouds with Microsoft™ Azure™ Stack Hub. Management capabilities are provided by Lenovo XClarity Administrator. The product is revalidated for all updates, providing a complete, lifecycle-managed solution.

The ThinkAgile SX for Microsoft Azure Stack product group is commonly referred to as ThinkAgile SXM Series in the documentation.

Models and Machine Types​

This documentation refers to the following products:

  • ThinkAgile SXM4400

  • ThinkAgile SXM6400

  • ThinkAgile SXM4600

SXM4200 and SXM6200​

The ThinkAgile SXM Series SXM4200 and SXM6200 are no longer available. These solutions include from four to twelve server nodes (depending on rack size and model), a Hardware Lifecycle Host (HLH) server, and three top-of-rack network switches (TOR-1, TOR-2, and BMC). These could be ordered in either a 25U or 42U rack and are based on Broadwell generation hardware.

SXM4400 and SXM6400​

The ThinkAgile SXM Series SXM4400 and SXM6400 solutions include from four to sixteen server nodes (depending on rack size and model), a Hardware Lifecycle Host (HLH) server, and two or three top-of-rack network switches (TOR-1, TOR-2, and BMC), depending on whether Lenovo switches or Mellanox switches are used. Solutions that use Mellanox switches do not use a “BMC” switch. These can be ordered in either a 25U or 42U rack and are based on Purley generation hardware.

SXM4600​

The ThinkAgile SXM Series SXM4600 solutions include from four to sixteen server nodes, a Hardware Lifecycle Host (HLH) server, and two top-of-rack network switches. These solutions can be ordered in a 42U rack or as “rackless” solutions and are based on Lenovo V3 rack servers that contain 4th Generation Intel Scalable Processor Platform processors.

Installation and setup​

Where available, the offering includes Lenovo Professional Services installation, in order to accelerate your time to deployment and improve integration with your data center infrastructure. Proper planning and site preparation are essential. Refer to the following ThinkAgile SXM Series documentation for the necessary information.
