Removing a ServeRAID controller
Use this information to remove a ServeRAID controller.
When the ServeRAID controller is removed, software RAID is not supported. The compute node does not support downgrading to the software RAID function from the hardware RAID configuration.
Before you remove the ServeRAID controller, complete the following steps:- Read Safety and Installation guidelines.
- If the compute node is installed in an Flex System chassis, remove it (see Removing a compute node from a chassis for instructions).
- Carefully lay the compute node on a flat, static-protective surface, orienting the compute node with the bezel pointing toward you.
If you are removing a ServeRAID M5115 controller, go to Flex System Optional Devices for a link to the ServeRAID M5115 installation guide.
To remove the ServeRAID H1135 controller, complete the following steps.
- Remove the cover (see Removing the compute node cover).
- Locate the ServeRAID controller connector on the system-board.
- Using your finger, move the retaining clips away from the ServeRAID controller; then, lift the controller out of the system-board connector.
If you are instructed to return the ServeRAID controller, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
