Removing an interposer cable

Use this information to remove an interposer cable.

Before you remove the interposer cable, complete the following steps:
  1. Read Safety and Installation guidelines.
  2. If the compute node is installed in a chassis, remove it (see Removing a compute node from a chassis for instructions).
  3. Carefully lay the compute node on a flat, static-protective surface, orienting the compute node with the bezel pointing toward you.

To remove an interposer cable, complete the following steps.

  1. Remove the cover (see Removing the compute node cover).
  2. Locate the interposer connector (see System-board connectors).
  3. If an I/O expansion adapter is installed over the interposer connector, remove it (see Removing an I/O expansion adapter).
  4. Lift the interposer cable from the connector and remove the cable from the compute node. You might find it helpful to rock the cable back and forth to disengage the cable.
  5. If necessary, install the I/O expansion adapter (see Installing an I/O expansion adapter).
If you are instructed to return the interposer cable, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
