Install a blank panel to the rack

Follow instructions in this section to install a blank panel to the rack.

About this task

Attention
  • Read Installation Guidelines and Safety inspection checklist to ensure that you work safely.
  • Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.

Procedure

  1. Install the cage nuts for the blank panel into the square holes on both sides using a flat-blade screwdriver for assistance.

  2. Install the blank panel.
    1. Install the blank panel onto the front of the rack.
    2. Tighten the four screws to secure the blank panel.
